AR 670-1: 20-26. Shirts, white

Quick Answer

White shirts are optional purchase items worn with mess and evening mess uniforms. The female formal mess shirt comes in tuck-in style with pearl-like buttons and ruffles or a semiformal wing-collar design. The male formal shirt is a wing-collar design with a front bib. See paragraphs 11-9 and 12-10 for white shirts worn with the ASU.
